Greeting Text & Local Greeting Text
The Greeting Text is one of the first things soon-to-become-subscribers see when they click on the “Send Message” button on your Facebook page. Or any of the other entry points that ‘forces’ them to go through the “Get Started” window first. The Greeting Text itself is displayed above the “Get Started” button in the chat window and is visible to all soon-to-become-subscribers before they even start a conversation with your page.
Here's a short video on how Greeting Text & Local Greeting Text work:
We hope the video shed some light on the Greeting Text and Local Greeting Text feature. If that went a bit too fast for your taste, please see the rest of the article about the Greeting Text and Local Greeting Text Page.
Greeting Text Overview
The Greeting Text is a great way to give a summary of your page or your chatbot’s functionality, and here are some rules to play by:
The text is limited to 160 characters
It may include variables, like: First Name, Last Name, Page Name.
It may include emoji.
Important Tip about Greeting Text
If you use variables in your Greeting Text, such as personalization tags, a user’s name is counted towards the characters limit. If the names are too long the ending of your Greeting Text will be cut by the limit.A well-chosen Greeting Text may help you increase conversion rate on the “Get Started” button – especially when you use Personalization Tags, so make sure to set up one for your bot right away!
How to set up your Default Greeting Text
- Type your text in the field (add personalization tags and/or emoji to make your message come alive) and save by clicking the “Save” button below the field.
Open Preview
- You can also preview the Greeting Text: to do so, click “Open Preview”.
- This opens up a modal with your Preview.
Saving and Enabling Greeting Text
- Once satisfied, click the “Save” button.
- The only thing that's left is enabling your Greeting Text with the Toggle.
How to set up your Local Greeting Text
- Right below the Default Greeting Text, you find Local Greeting Text. This where you can set up different Greeting Text for each language. Clepher basically checks what the language is from the subscriber that engages with your bot, and if you’ve set up a Local Greeting Text in that language we serve that instead of the Default Greeting Text.
- It works the same as Default Greeting Text, only you have to specify which language the input belongs to. Simply, type your text in the field (add personalization tags and/or emoji to make your message come alive) and save by clicking the “Save” button below the field.
