Flows Manager
In this section, you find the Flows Manager. Now you are able to start building your chatbots. Basically, make sure your flows have the right tags, custom field, or global fields setup. It’s also the place you want to be if you want to simply import a Chatbot from another page.
Flows Manager Overview
All your flows are stored in the table at Automation > Flows. The table will be showing just the Welcome Message and Default Reply for Messenger if it’s your first time setting up a flow. In the next section, you’ll get an overview of how the Flows Manager works.
Flows Manager Explained
In this section of the article, you find what you can expect on the Flows Manager page.
1. Name
This is the name you give to your flows. It’s recommended to use a name that helps you to find your flow back easily.
2. Type
This shows the type of flow you have created. It can be either a promotional, non-promotional, or a one-time notification.
3. Platform
This shows which platform the flow was created for. It can be Messenger or Instagram and the logo for the platform will be the distinction.
4. Dropdown menu
By clicking on the default number, which is 10, you can change the number of flows you want to appear per page. You can choose to show either 10, 25, 50, or 100 records per page.
5. Search
In the right-upper corner, you can also use the search field. Search terms are applied to all flow names.
6. Bulk Actions
This allows you to delete multiple flows at once.
7. Actions
These are the actions you can perform on an individual flow, namely edit, settings, and delete.
8. Pages
In the bottom right corner, you can view the next page or previous page by clicking “next” or “previous”. This allows you to navigate through all your flows.
How to perform Bulk Actions?
You can perform Bulk Actions by clicking the checkboxes – of the records you want to perform Bulk Actions on – in the first column. From there you perform Bulk Actions like “Delete”, by clicking the Bulk Actions button in the right-upper corner.
Create New
Creating a new Flow is easy:
Simply click on “Create New”
A window will pop up. Choose a name for your flow and on the Platform field, select either Messenger or Instagram.
For Messenger flows, you will also have to choose the type of your flow.
There are three types of flows:
Promotional Flow - This flow may contain ads and promotional content, but can only be sent to subscribers who talked to your page in the past 24 hours.
Non-promotional Flow - Non-promotional flows with the help of message tags give you the ability to send messages to a person outside of the normally allowed 24-hour window for a limited number of purposes that require continual notification or updates. Once selected you will get a list of message tags to further specify the purpose of your message. Using tags to send promotional content (ex: daily deals, coupons, and discounts, or sale announcements) is against Messenger Platform policy. There are 3 message tags: Confirmed Event Update, Post Purchase Update, and Account Update. For more detailed information about message tags, please see the article Sending a New Broadcast.
One-time Notification - This allows you to send one follow-up message (Promotional or Non-Promotional) after the 24-hour messaging window has ended given you received consent from your subscriber. To learn more about how this works, please see our documentation on One-time Notification
After clicking “Confirm,” you’ll be redirected to the Flow Composer page.
Note: Same flow types apply to Instagram flows except for One-time Notification. To learn more about how Instagram flows work, click here.
